  • Paddles
  • Leashes (for stand up paddleboards)
  • Life Jackets
  • Dry Bags

Where is the launch site?

We launch from Ted Sperling Park on Lido Key ( 190 Taft Dr, Sarasota, FL), just minutes from downtown Sarasota and easy to access by car. There is parking and restrooms at the launch site.  Once you arrive, you will check in with SURFIT USA (directly across from the restroom building).

What do we need to bring/wear?

  • Clothes you don’t mind getting wet (bathing suits, shorts and T-shirts are appropriate)
  • Water
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera
  • Water Shoes (not needed but you may appreciate having them)
  • Cash for gratuities (if you enjoy the tour, our guides appreciate the love)

What are the tour guides like?

Our guides know these waters well and their only goal is that you have a safe, comfortable and enjoyable time on the water.  Most of our guides have been paddling the Florida waters for over ten years; some for their entire lives.  They have insider knowledge of the local area and wildlife and will offer a unique glimpse into the Florida lifestyle.

We limit our tours in size so that you have a small group to one guide.  We try to keep each tour to between 10-12 people.

Will we see any wildlife?

Participants frequently enjoy sightings of:

  • Coastal shorebirds and fish
  • Crabs, mangrove wildlife
  • Manatees and dolphins (seasonal, no guarantees — but common)
  • Scenic views of Sarasota Bay

This tour combines paddling with wildlife and local natural history learning.  We always practice safe marine mammal viewing.  We keep our distance and try not to disrupt their natural activities.  If they approach us, we stop paddling and just take in the experience.  This tour is entirely in saltwater and there are no alligators.

I have never paddled before.  Is this tour for me?

Whether you’ve never paddled before or you’re an experienced kayaker or paddleboarder, this tour is guided and beginner-friendly. Our guides will orient you to your craft and keep groups small for personal attention.

Can I combine kayaks and paddleboards on a tour?

Yes, we do this all the time.  Many of our guides lead from a paddleboard as it gives them a better vantage point.

How big are the tours?

We try to limit the tours to 12 people per tour but they are often much smaller.  This seems to be the perfect size so the guides can attend to all participants and ensure everyone is having a great time.

What is the cancellation policy?

Reservations canceled with 24 hours or more notice are eligible for a refund of the reservation amount, less any booking and credit card processing fees. – Booking and processing fees are non-refundable.  Reservations cancelled within 12 hours of the tour can receive a voucher to use for another time.  No shows will not be refunded.
